WWE NXT star Dijak says his current on-screen character is the most “comfortable” he has ever been in his wrestling career.
After a near-two year stint on the WWE main roster, Dijak made his return to the NXT brand in 2022. Since then, the former T-Bar has become one of the most prominent talents on the entire roster and has consistently been praised for his matches and character work on NXT TV.
Speaking on WWE Die Woche, Dijak was asked whether his current character is the most comfortable he’s been in WWE so far. He replied:
“It’s definitely the most comfortable for me. I always try my best, especially in wrestling, to continuously reinvent and innovate and stuff like that.”
“Because the turnaround time in wrestling is so fast. Once people get used to something and get comfortable with it, that’s when it can go a number of different directions.”
“I’ve never felt comfortable enough in a state of where I was in terms of my career to say, oh, I can just kind of sit back and coast and let the character just kind of be itself.”
“Even in this current incarnation, we started leaning more heavily into my criminal justice background, which is great. I wanted that.”
“I wanted to add another layer of depth to who I am and why people would tune in and watch me and what kind of storylines I can be integrated to.”
Giving Shawn Michaels’s credit for being receptive to his ideas, Dijak said:
“To Shawn Michaels’s credit, he was very receptive that, and it’s worked out beautifully.”
“But again, we only started that a year and a half ago, and after maybe a year, I’ve already taken that and said, okay, I’m going to add more and more layers of who I am and peel back a little bit of that character.”
“So I’m always trying to evolve and add more depth and add more layers because that’s kind of definitive to who everyone is as a human being,”
Dijak last wrestled in a loss to Noam Dar on the April 16 edition of WWE NXT.
