Current WWE Star Didn’t Know The Plan For Major Storyline He Was Part Of

A current WWE star has recalled his involvement in a major storyline, revealing that he didn’t know what the plan for the angle was going to be.

Appearing on The Kurt Angle Show, Corey Graves discussed a segment from the May 29, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw involving himself and the show’s General Manager at the time, Kurt Angle.

The segment in question saw Graves come to Angle with some potentially damaging information that he had been sent, with Graves leaving the announce booth to give the Olympic Gold Medalist a heads up.

What this led to was the reveal that former WWE star Jason Jordan was Angle’s storyline son.

Interestingly however, Graves revealed that despite being involved in the story’s beginnings, he actually had no idea what the payoff was going to be.

Graves revealed:

“Kurt, if you handed me a million dollar right now, I wouldn’t be able to tell you what the hell the information ever was.”

“They never told me. I don’t know what the payoff was ever going to be. I remember asking at the time, because it felt really random, and they said…Jason Jordan and I got hired at the same time.

“I took my medical exams in Pittsburgh, that’s when I met him, we were at UPMC for our pre-WWE medical screens and we’ve been fast friends ever since. I think that was sort of the reasoning behind it.

“I just remember being like, I don’t know what this means, I don’t know where it’s going, but I get to work with my friend and Kurt Angle, this is going to be awesome, I don’t care, but I have no idea what the plan was. No clue.”

Despite many poking fun at the story, it did help launch Jordan as a singles star following his run in American Alpha alongside Chad Gable.

Unfortunately since suffering a neck injury in 2018 Jordan has yet to return to the ring, instead transitioning to a role as a backstage producer, which he currently fulfils to this day.
