A WWE star has been counting down to what will be his first ever scheduled singles match in WWE with a series of emotional posts.
Since joining WWE in 2019, NXT’s Mr Stone has performed primarily as a manager, working alongside stars such as Chelsea Green and more recently Von Wagner.
Stone’s friendship with Wagner has seen him lay out a challenge to two-time former NXT Champion Bron Breakker, following Breakker’s vicious attack on Wagner on the September 5 edition of NXT.
The match will be Stone’s first-ever properly scheduled singles match in WWE, with an impromptu match with Xyon Quinn following a ‘dance-off’ on the November 2, 2021 NXT being his only other one-on-one outing in the company.
Although Stone is known in WWE for his work outside the ring, the 40-year-old has over two decades of experience in the ring, first debuting in 2000 and working for promotions such as TNA and Pro Wrestling NOAH as Robbie E.
In the week leading to the match between Stone and Breakker at Halloween Havoc Night Two, Stone has posted to Twitter every day in countdown to the match.
Stone has opened himself up in the posts, sharing emotional personal stories as well as throwback images of his debut in 2000 and pictures of matches against Kurt Angle and Breakker’s uncle Scott Steiner.
In his most recent post Stone shared an image of his wrestling debut in 2000 along with an emotional message, saying:
In 2000 when I was still in HS I started in this industry.
Everyone thought I was crazy just like they think taking on Bron is crazy.
I proved them all wrong and will again.
If I could tell my young self 1 thing it would be don’t back down from a bully.
Stone vs Bron = 3 days

Bron is considered one of the most dangerous men in our industry.
Thats fine.
I don’t disagree, but with over 24 yrs. of world traveled experience I sure as hell have been in the ring with dangerous competitors before.
