WWE Star Believes Fans Try To Minimize Ronda Rousey’s Impact WWE

Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey officially wrestled her last match in WWE back at SummerSlam in August.

Rousey’s last match against Shayna Baszler took place after Shayna turned on Ronda at Money In The Bank, with Ronda putting over her long time friend at SummerSlam in Detroit.

In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Shayna spoke about Rousey’s impact on women’s sports, and how she believes fans try to minimize her impact due to not liking her personally.

She said:

“I think Ronda Rousey is, I think she’s under-appreciated. I think people like to hate her for whatever reason, and it’s been that way in MMA — it’s because she doesn’t mince her words.

“People like to, because they don’t like her personally, they like to try to erase what she’s done for women’s sports, women’s combat sports, the UFC & WWE. They like to minimize that just because they don’t like her personally and I think that’s a shame. I might not be on the best terms [with her], but I will never deny that she did a lot for women’s combat sports. I think she’s under appreciated in some sense.”

Ronda has since made her debut on the independents after her WWE departure, with her set to team with AEW’s Marina Shafir at the upcoming Wrestling REVOLVER UNREAL show in Los Angeles.
