It’s been just shy of two years since WWE’s ill-fated Retribution faction was put to rest.
The group consisting of members T-Bar (Dominik Dijakovic), MACE (ma.ce), Reckoning (Mia Him), Slapjack (Shane Thorne) and Retaliation (Mercedes Martinez), was a failed experiment for WWE during the pandemic-era that provided little of consequence to WWE TV.
Aside perhaps the moment on Raw that the group’s leader was revealed to be none other than Mustafa Ali.
While Retribution isn’t too fondly remembered by fans, it looks like the same can’t be said for Ali, who decided to pay tribute to the fallen stable via Twitter.
Tomorrow (March 21) officially marks the two year anniversary of the group being put out of it’s misery, and Ali has written an ode to the group.
Ali would post a rather hilarious cover of Hoobastank’s 2003 hit The Reason in dedication to Retribution and its colourful cast of characters.
you can’t grow in the future until you come to peace with the past!
tomorrow is the anniversary of retribution disbanding. instead of being mad about how the members were ungrateful, I have decided to forgive them. here is my love note to retribution

I think after seeing this, it’s safe to say that we need more Ali on WWE TV.
