In recent weeks, WWE has been adding more nicknames to various wrestlers on the roster.

The nicknames have been listed on match graphics on Raw, including ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio and ‘Big’ Bronson Reed.

Intercontinental Champion Gunther has also seen this happen, though his nickname is not new, still being referred to as ‘The Ring General’.

However, WWE has been including his ‘Ring General’ nickname on match graphics, as well as Samantha Irvin announcing him as such during his entrance.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), Gunther is now listed internally as ‘The Ring General’ Gunther rather than simply as ‘Gunther’.

Gunther is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam in Detroit next Saturday.

Gunther recently spoke about a potential match between he and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, and why he doesn’t see it as a dream match.

Giovanni Vinci’s status within Imperium is said to be ‘to be determined’ following his recent loss to Matt Riddle and Drew McIntyre.
