A WWE star has opened up on the ‘magical’ return to their home country as part of the WWE roster for the first time in 9 years.
At WrestleMania 42, Paige made her return to WWE in an in-ring capacity for the first time in 9 years, teaming with Brie Bella to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship in a four-way tag team match.
Paige had been forced into retirement due to neck injuries back in 2017, with her later leaving WWE and signing with AEW, where she was then cleared to return to the ring back in 2022.
With WWE holding Raw and SmackDown in London last week, Paige made her return to the United Kingdom for the first time in 9 years as an active competitor.
Her and Brie Bella defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria on Raw, and Paige defeated Jacy Jayne in singles action on SmackDown.
Paige Opens Up On ‘Magical’ WWE UK Return
WWE today released a behind the scenes vlog on Paige’s return to the United Kingdom on Raw, where she opened up about competing in a WWE ring in her home country for the first time in 9 years.
She said:
“It was so fun performing in front of my home country. They’re always so loud, they’re interactive, there’s no point where they’re trying to take over the show, they’re just having a good time.
“They’re so supportive, there was a lot of Paige posters out there, and t-shirts, I was like ‘oh my God you love me’, it’s beautiful. I actually teared up during my entrance, I was like ‘ah shit you’re getting me’.
“My mum and dad’s here too, I had family in the crowd, it was magical.”

This was not Paige’s first match in the United Kingdom in 9 years, as she won the AEW Women’s World Championship as Saraya back at All In London in 2023, as well as competing for a number of independent promotions in Norwich during her time in AEW.
Veteran Names Needed In WWE Women’s Division
With a recent influx of NXT call ups to the WWE main roster, the company now is in need of some veteran names to help smoothen the transition from NXT to Raw or SmackDown.
With WWE releasing a number of veteran talents over the past year, including names like Kairi Sane, Shayna Baszler and Kay Lee Ray, as well as Asuka seemingly no longer full-time with the company, the veteran talents left in the women’s division is reduced to simply names like Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Nattie.
Paige and Brie Bella’s presence on the roster can help add some star power and experience to a division that needs a lot of it currently.
