WWE star Nattie says she’s “honored” by Mercedes Moné’s tribute to her at last night’s AEW Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view.

After spending the first six months of 2026 off AEW TV, Mercedes Moné finds herself back in line for an AEW Women’s World Title shot, as she defeated Maya World at Forbidden Door to become this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Cup winner.

World, who’s run to the finals had the added emotional weight of the tragic loss of her brother earlier this month, took “The CEO” to her limits and came close to completing her fairytale story, but ultimately fell short at the last hurdle.

Given that the tournament is in tribute to wrestling legend Owen Hart, Moné was fittingly sporting the trademark black and pink colors of the Hart family, something Amanda Huber – the widow of former AEW star Brodie Lee – noted on Twitter was a tribute to Nattie, someone who Moné has plenty of history with during their shared time in WWE.

In response to Huber’s tweet, Nattie said she was “truly honored” by Moné’s tribute, something Moné herself would then retweet.

Truly honored. Low-key Legend x GOAT

Nattie was already an established name in WWE by the time Sasha Banks arrived in the company in the mid 2010s, and the pair competed in title matches, Royal Rumbles and Money in the Banks against each other during their time in the company.

While Nattie has remained in WWE since then, Moné departed in 2022 and has since established herself as a worldwide presence, winning championships in AEW, NJPW and many other promotions since then.

Mercedes Moné “Can’t Believe” Everything She’s Achieved In Wrestling

Speaking during the AEW Forbidden Door 2026 press conference, Mercedes Moné addressed her success in pro wrestling and how she’s now coming face-to-face in the ring with stars – such as Maya World – who ere inspired to begin their careers because of her work.

Moné said:

“It’s honestly crazy for me and anytime I think about it, this whole week I was a little emotional. Like another one that I get to wrestle? Another woman that has joined this beautiful, beautiful sport of professional wrestling. I get to wrestle them?

“Man, you just named four but I’ve wrestled so many and they’re all over the world. I cannot believe what I’ve done in wrestling at such a young age and here I am still young and in my prime at 34 and I’m not stopping. I’m only getting greater, so it feels incredible.”

By winning the Owen Hart Cup, Moné receives an AEW World Title shot at All In London 2026 – a title currently held by Thekla.
