Charlotte Flair has sent a message to Jade Cargill after costing her the WWE Women’s United States Title at Night of Champions 2026.
In what was the penultimate match of Night of Champions, Tiffany Stratton put her WWE Women’s United States Title on the line against Jade Cargill.
With their last meeting at the November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event resulting in Stratton losing her WWE Women’s Championship to Cargill, she admitted during the Night of Champions 2026 Countdown Show that she was a “little bit scared” the same result would happen once again.
Thankfully for Stratton, history did not in fact repeat itself, as despite Cargill having Michin and B-Fab on hand to help her capture the US Title, it was a combination of Chelsea Green and Charlotte Flair that helped even the odds and pave the way for Tiffany to retain.
With the referee distracted by Green, who moments prior had emerged from underneath the ring to fight off B-Fab and Michin, Cargill sought to use the Women’s US Title as a weapon, however, her attempt was thwarted by Charlotte Flair, who instead used the gold to strike Cargill. This then allowed Stratton to hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the win.
Flair’s actions were in response to Cargill assaulting her backstage right before she took on Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring semifinals on the June 19 episode of SmackDown, an attack that, according to Cargill, meant that she and Flair were “even,” or at least that’s what she thought.
Responding to Cargill’s June 20 tweet over a week later, Flair teased that her and Jade’s story is only at it’s beginning, writing:
No, we’re actually just getting started.
Charlotte Flair & Jade Cargill The Headline Women’s Feud On SmackDown Amid Rhea Ripley Absence
WWE Night of Champions gave us an answer to one of the burning questions leading into the event, as IYO SKY immediately picked Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, rather than WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley to face at SummerSlam after winning this year’s Queen of the Ring tournament.
With IYO defeating Liv to win the crown, many fans expected her to go another route and challenge her former tag team partner Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam, as Rhea has never defeated IYO in singles competition, making for an interesting potential storyline heading into “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”
The decision to go with Liv vs. IYO may be nothing to do with Ripley, however, with “The Eradicator” currently on the shelf with a knee injury, this decision could also be an indicator that the WWE Women’s Champion may not be fit to return at SummerSlam.
If that’s the case, rather than having Ripley sit at home with the title, WWE could strip her of the gold and place it at the center of Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill’s feud heading into SummerSlam.
Flair is chasing world title number 15 and Cargill will be looking to bounce back after her Night of Champions loss, so the motivation is there, as is the star power, with Flair and Cargill fitting the bill for a major SummerSlam match.
