TNA
A recently released WWE star has made their TNA Wrestling debut at tonight’s Slammiversary 2026 pay-per-view event.
Back in April, WWE held it’s latest round of talent cuts, with over 20 names being confirmed to have been released from the company.
Among those names was former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion Apollo Crews, who had spent a decade as part of the WWE main roster following his NXT call up in 2016.
While Apollo was among those names let go, it seems as though his departure was due to his contract expiring rather than a release, as he is already back in action.
Apollo Crews (Uhaa Nation) Debuts At TNA Slammiversary
At tonight’s TNA Slammiversary event, TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali was set to defend his title against a mystery opponent that was to be announced by Daria Rae on the pre-show.
However, before Daria could reveal Ali’s opponent, Santino Marella interrupted, saying that he also found an opponent for Ali on the show, and his defence would now be a triple threat match.
On the show, it was revealed that Daria’s competitor for Ali was Rich Swann, while Santino’s competitor was the debuting Uhaa Nation.
Ali would end up picking up the win in the match, retaining the International Championship.
More Released WWE Stars To Debut For TNA?
With a number of big departures from TNA Wrestling, the company is now going through something of a transitional period, with new stars potentially set to debut for the company.
There are a number of former WWE stars currently available on the free agent market that would make good additions to the TNA roster, including Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin), Charlie (Dakota Kai), Kay Lee Ray (Alba Fyre), Killer Kross and Scarlett.
At the end of next month, more WWE names that were released from the company at the end of April will become free agents, including TNA legends Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns, Kairi Sane and all members of the Wyatt Sicks.
Add in some younger talent on the rise in the independent scene, similar to TNA’s signing of names such as Ricky Sosa, and mix them in with TNA’s already established upper card names and potential new additions, and we could see the TNA roster look a lot different this time next year.
