A new TNA World Champion has been crowned at Slammiversary tonight, with the former champion potentially headint to WWE.

Main eventing Slammiversary, Mike Santana put the TNA World Title on the line against Nic Nemeth – formerly known as Dolph Ziggler in WWE.

It was Nemeth who ended up scoring the victory, winning his second TNA World Championship and ending Santana’s second reign in the process.

This title change comes as Santana’s TNA contract is reportedly expiring soon, with WWE expected to be interested in signing hiM.

At this point in time, it would seem unlikely that TNA would take its top title off Santana unless he is indeed on his way out of the promotion, so it seems like we could be seeing him in WWE some time soon.

Mike Santana’s Potential In WWE

By Connel Rumsey

With Mike Santana losing the TNA World Championship at tonight’s Slammiversary event, questions will almost certainly arise in regards to his future with the promotion.

It was recently reported that Santana’s contract with TNA is set to expire next month, with WWE having interest in bringing him into the company.

If Santana does make the move over to WWE at the end of next month, he will likely start out on the NXT brand, a brand that is already familiar with him after he made many appearances on the show as part of the partnership with TNA.

In a very baron NXT men’s roster, Santana would become arguably the top name in NXT immediately upon his arrival, with him likely even being NXT Champion by the end of the year.

In terms of main roster potential, Santana would be a very strong addition to either Raw or SmackDown’s midcard scene, as well as potential appearances in AAA.
