Popular WWE Star Says He’s Part Of The Cody Rhodes Story

Popular WWE star and former United States Champion R-Truth says he is part of the Cody Rhodes story ahead of the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes and his quest to “finish the story” has become a large part of how wrestling fans identify the widely popular 38-year old star.

Cody’s journey to become the first member of the legendary Rhodes family to win the WWE Title is one of the company’s biggest ongoing stories, especially on the road to WrestleMania 40.

However, Cody’s finishing the story will meet one of its biggest challenges yet in this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match when he will have go toe-to-toe with the returning CM Punk.

On the January 22 edition of WWE Raw, Rhodes and Punk went face-to-face for the first time since Punk’s return as the two men exchanged words ahead of the Rumble.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Bill Apter asked R-Truth about the two men heading into the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Truth answered:

“They both got some business. Punk is back and I was just as surprised as everyone else. I was very surprised. I love Phil.”

“I think Punk is good for business, you can’t take nothing away from him and at the same time you damn sure can’t get in the way for Cody Rhodes.”

“He’s got a story he’s trying to finish. In some form of fashion, I’m a part of that story too. But he need to tell it with someone else.”
