A WWE star has made a big return to close tonight’s episode of WWE Raw after a longtime friend was clearly in peril.
While there was a contract signing between Tommaso Ciampa and GUNTHER for their upcoming Intercontinental Championship match, the match actually ended up being set for tonight’s episode of Raw.
With a lengthy main event segment, the match was a fierce battle for the Intercontinental Championship which in the end, GUNTHER retained.
After the match however when Imperium was lurking and ready to continue an assault on the downed Ciampa, instead Johnny Gargano appeared.
For those who follow these types of things, Gargano returned still to the latest version of his theme song, ‘Bet On Yourself’, not his more recognizable ‘Rebel Heart’ theme.
Gargano last appeared on WWE television back in May where he was eliminated in an Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal.
Before that he was last on television at NXT’s premium live event during WrestleMania 39 weekend, at NXT Stand and Deliver in an Unsanctioned Match against Grayson Waller who had yet to be called up to the main roster at the time.
Since that time until now, he’d been off TV, but had infrequently worked a few untelevised live events.
With WWE touting on social media that ‘DIY IS BACK!!!’ it seems that Gargano will be running with Ciampa once again, this time on the main roster.
