WWE star Sheamus has provided an update on his injured shoulder that has kept him out of action since November.

Sheamus has been out of action since November, with his final match being a six-man tag team match with John Cena and Rey Mysterio against the Judgment Day on John Cena’s final WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden.

Sheamus suffered a shoulder injury, which led to him being pulled from the Last Time Is Now Tournament to determine Cena’s final opponent.

Sheamus Says WWE Injury Has Been ‘Difficult’

Speaking to Off The Ball, Sheamus provided an update on his injury status, noting that this injury has been ‘difficult’.

He noted that he initially began noticing some pain in May or June of last year, but continued working through it until he couldn’t anymore, undergoing surgery on December 30.

He said:

“This one’s been difficult, it kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May/June, then I had the Clash In Paris with Rusev, it was bothering me and I thought I tore it, and I got a couple of shots in there and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me.

“My thing has always been very, very physical, I’ve always prided myself in a physical style. A lot of my opponents don’t like that, but tough luck. My thing has always been that, go out there and put on a banger, match of the night, every single time.

“I don’t care if I get zero build up, a week of build up, I don’t get the luxury of having these in-ring segments that go on forever, but I just go out there and my goal is to put on a banger, a physical match like no-one has seen the likes of and just get the crowd on their feet, that’s what I do, and I do it better than anybody.

“Of course it comes with the situation where I could get banged up as well. This shoulder thing, I really tried to push through it to the point I couldn’t even move my arm. So I had surgery December 30, and ever since then I’ve been in rehab.

“I am dying to get back in that ring, I’m dying to get back to work. I’ve got cabin fever, I have a lot still to give in this business, I’m just as passionate now, probably more, than I was when I first started, and I wanna get back out there and start putting bangers on, and God help whoever’s across the ring from me, because full North Side Dublin is coming at them, nothing’s gonna stop me.”

WWE Return Plans For Sheamus

With Sheamus potentially nearing a return from injury, there are a number of ways he could be introduced back into the fold on WWE television.

The first and most exciting way would be for the Celtic Warrior to answer one of Oba Femi’s open challenges, bringing him straight back into the fold with a banger with WWE’s fastest rising star.

Sheamus is also still yet to get his hands on the Intercontinental Championship that has alluded him his entire career, with the title currently around the waist of Penta, who would be another great opponent for Sheamus upon his return.
