WWE
Tonight’s April 1 episode of WWE NXT kicked off with the announcement that one of the brand’s championships has been vacated.
On March 11 at WWE Roadblock, NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer and NXT Women’s Champion Giulia had a match with both titles on the line.
Vaquer emerged victorious from that, making her a double champion – the match was not a unification match, so the championships remained separate.
Last week, she had two separate matches, retaining the NXT Women’s Championship against Jaida Parker, and later the North American Championship against Fallon Henley.
However, as of tonight’s NXT, she is no longer a double champion.
The show opened with Vaquer and NXT General Manager Ava in the ring, announcing that Vaquer is relinquishing the North American Title.
Vaquer will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against an opponent of her choosing at Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend.
Also at Stand & Deliver, the next holder of the now-vacant North American Title will be determined in a six-woman ladder match.
Qualifying matches to get into the ladder match start tonight.
