On August 5, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey will be in singles action at WWE SummerSlam, but the match may have an added stipulation.
The match itself has been officially announced with their feud starting at Money in the Bank on July 1, 2023.
The match has been promoted as a “fight”, but there’s been no announcement as to what that actually means.
Well, writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported:
“Rousey vs. Baszler in promos will be “a fight.” We’re told the idea is not a street fight but more of an MMA rules type of match, which makes sense with both having extensive backgrounds.”
This wouldn’t be the only match to have a stipulation, with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso being a Tribal Combat match, which means no disqualifications.
There have also been plenty of rumors that Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes will have a stipulation added, but nothing officially announced as of yet.
It has been previously reported that Rousey was leaving WWE soon and had given a “hard out” date for her departure, believed to be shortly after SummerSlam.
