Former WWE star Mustafa Ali is set to compete for a top championship at an upcoming TNA Wrestling pay-per-view.
With Ali recently making his TNA debut via a video package, it was heavily speculated that the ex-WWE star would be targeting the X Division Champion, as he stated that it’s time for an X Factor.
It has now officially been announced that Mustafa Ali will challenge for Chris Sabin’s X Division Championship at No Surrender 2024 on February 23.
TNA Wrestling shared the following preview for the bout:
Two weeks ago, Mustafa Ali vowed to bring change to TNA Wrestling as he addressed the world in a video message. A star known around the globe, Ali would make his presence felt once again when he interrupted X-Division Champion Chris Sabin just one week later.
With his intentions made clear, we can now confirm that not only will Mustafa Ali make his TNA in-ring debut at No Surrender, but he will challenge Chris Sabin for the X-Division Championship. It’s an epic first-time-ever clash but only one can leave New Orleans with the X-Division Championship! Will Sabin continue to reign over the division that he helped make famous? Or will Ali usher in a new era?
With Ali being let go by WWE during the September 2023 round of cuts, the popular star started his “World Tour” in January on the independent scene.
Ali is also set to make his NJPW debut at the upcoming Windy City Riot show in April.
Another ex-WWE star recently made their first appearance following their exit from the company.
