An update has emerged on WWE potentially bringing back a WCW presentation gimmick, which could show up on TV soon.

WWE TV has received a lot of praise following Lee Fitting taking over WWE taking over media and production duties from Kevin Dunn at the beginning of the year, with unique camera shots often being used.

Per Fightful Select, there has been some backstage discussions about potentially utilizing a referee camera, which reportedly could make its way onto TV soon.

Many sports organizations currently use ref cams to provide the unique point of view of the lead official.

Ref cams aren’t a new thing in pro-wrestling, with WCW utilizing ‘refer-eye’ cameras in the early 1990s. Referees would wear helmets with cameras attached to them.

While Fightful’s report was specifically related to NXT, it’s currently unclear if the idea is only being considered for the developmental brand, or if referee cameras could be main roster-bound too.

Tuesday’s edition of NXT featured appearances from several TNA Wrestling stars, including Joe Hendry, who has now addressed his appearance.
