A former WWE star who recently departed the company has reacted to a recent title change on their former brand.
At NXT Halloween Havoc Night One two major title changes occurred.
Firstly, Becky Lynch lost her NXT Women’s Championship to Lyra Valkyria in the show’s main event.
Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Tony D’Angelo also saw their 86 day NXT Tag Team Championship run come to an end, as they fell to Andre Chase and Duke Hudson of Chase University.
Despite previously being amongst the teams pursuing those very same championships, one half of former WWE tandem The Dyad, Zack Gibson (FKA Rip Fowler) took to Twitter to shower congratulations on the new champs.
Gibson tweeted:
CHASE U!
Well deserved lads!
Gibson and tag partner James Drake (FKA Jagger Reid) were fixtures of NXT during a five year spell in the company, firstly competing on NXT UK as the Grizzled Young Veterans where they won the tag titles, and later moving on to NXT from 2020 onwards.
Gibson and Drake officially departed the company on October 14 when their contracts expired.
Since then they have once again returned to their former team name of the Grizzled Young Veterans, making their first appearance outside the company for DPW just a day later on October 15 for a show in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
