WWE Star Hopes For More Representation In Stable’s Merchandise WWE

A WWE star hopes for more representation in her stable’s merchandise.

Ahead of WrestleMania 39, Rey Mysterio and Legado Del Fantasma reformed the Latino World Order, also known as the LWO. Since then, the group’s popularity has soared and seen each star gain more prominence on the WWE roster, especially Zelina Vega.

At WWE Backlash, Vega had a special moment in front of Puerto Rican crowd as she challenged Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The company has made a lot of money on merchandise for the LWO with different designs based on the Mexican and Puerto Rican flags.

Speaking with Josh Martinez of Z100 for Superstar Crossover, Zelina Vega stated that she had pitched the idea for Puerto Rican style shirts even before she saw the designs. She said:

“So, it’s funny, before I even knew it was going to be a thing, I had suggested that we do that. It’s obviously really cool to be doing this and having the Mexico colors, but there’s so many other people who are gonna want to be a part of this, you know?”

“Not just me as a Puerto Rican woman, but also fans, who are gonna say like, ‘I want the Puerto Rican version.’ Maybe there’s a Cuban version, there’s so many different people who want to be a part of it now. I just think it’s such a cool thing.”

Vega continued on to explain how it was first seeing the Puerto Rican flag version of the LWO shirt, saying:

“I had sent them my version. Mine had the star, which is the tattoo I have. They’re like, ‘Oh, my God, I wish that we would have talked to you before we did it,’ but they showed me their version.”

“I was like, ‘This is insane that this is real life right now’ that we’re actually having the LWO in general, but now also a Puerto Rican version. I’m so honored.”

“There are so many things that I looked at and say, ‘My god, I’m so blessed to be a part of this,’ especially with the crew that I have. I’m so blessed.”

Despite losing to Rhea Ripley in San Juan, Puerto Rico at WWE Backlash, Zelina Vega has another chance to get a shot at championship gold.

Vega will compete in the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match at the titular event on July 1. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
