On May 20, 2017, at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, Pete Dunne challenged Tyler Bate for the WWE United Kingdom Championship. The two men blew the roof off the Allstate Arena that night, putting on what would later be classed as NXT‘s Match of the Year. Dunne defeated Bate to become only the second UK Champion in the short history of the title. Now, on the one year anniversary of that match, Pete Dunne is still atop the UK Division.
