WWE WrestleMania 35 Betting Trends, Part 2

Today, I look at the updated betting trends leading up to WrestleMania 35.

Two things before I get into the odds for WrestleMania 35: (1) Betting odds for WWE represent possible spoilers. While it is not a certainty, they are right more often than not. So if you don’t want to be spoiled, stop reading now! (2) A quick reminder of how American betting odds work in case you are used to another format:

A “favorite” is given a negative number. This is the amount of money that needs to be placed on that competitor to win $100. For example, if someone is a -300 favorite, you need to bet $300 to potentially win $100. If you win the bet, you get $400 back (your original $300 and your $100 profit). If you lose the bet, you lose your $300. -300 = 1/3 in fractional odds.

An “underdog” is given a positive number. This is the amount of money you will WIN so long as you bet $100. For example, if someone is a +450 underdog, you need to bet $100 to potentially win $450. If you win the bet, you get $550 back (your original $100 and your $450 profit). If you lose the bet, you lose your $100. +450 = 9/2 in fractional odds.

What match will main event WrestleMania 35? (June 4th, 2018)

Charlotte Flair v Ronda Rousey
Daniel Bryan v Roman Reigns
AJ Styles v Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan v Shinsuke Nakamura
Daniel Bryan v The Miz

Kevin’s Thoughts: Charlotte Flair v. Ronda Rousey remains the runaway favorite to headline WrestleMania 35. Unless something breaks that WWE is thinking otherwise, I’d expect these two to remain at the top. No other women’s match appears in the top 10. Asuka v. Ronda Rousey is down in the 11 spot at +1800. However, with Asuka’s streak broken I cannot see WWE going this route. Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura remain the top names other than Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in various combinations near the top. Daniel Bryan v. Roman Reigns has bumped into second place, however, the odds are worse than the last article (+550 to +800). Braun Strowman appears just outside the top 5.

Who will be the Universal Champion at WrestleMania 35?

Braun Strowman
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Brock Lesnar
Bobby Lashley

Kevin’s Thoughts: Interesting that Braun Strowman is the favorite to hold the Universal Championship by WrestleMania 35 but doesn’t appear in the top 5 matches in the previous betting prop. In the last article, I made the case that Braun Strowman v. Brock Lesnar at +1000 looked like a solid value. If you liked it then, you should like it now because that match is now +1400. The change (or lack thereof) of the Universal Championship should have big implications for the main event of WrestleMania 35. I’ll add this prop bet to my yearlong coverage of WrestleMania 35 going forward.
