NXT were back on the road this weekend and their first stop was Daytona Beach, Florida on Friday evening. In front of a crowd of 350 people, the yellow brand exhibited yet another great show which focused on the Undisputed Era in the main event.
Like their previous live events last weekend, the trio of Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly headlined the card with an eye on Moustache Mountain as we approach NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV. Though nothing has been made official at time of writing, it is widely expected that the Brits will challenge for the titles they dropped in a thriller on NXT television.
It was easy pickings for the NXT North American and Tag Team Champions as they rolled over the trio of Raul Mendoza and Heavy Machinery. It is going to be interesting to see how the dynamic works once Bobby Fish returns from injury and whether the Freebird rule will come into effect for defending the coveted doubles gold.
In results from the show:
- Danny Burch blasted Lio Rush
- Vanessa Borne and Lacey Evans best Jessie Elaban and Nikki Cross
- Kassius Ohno made short work of Jason
- The Velveteen Dream conquered Dan Matha
- War Raiders crushed Eh Nois (Adrian Jaoude and Cezar Bononi)
- EC3 was superior to Jaxson Ryker who used to be Gunner in TNA
- Shayna Baszler rolled over Xia Li to retain the NXT Women’s Championship
