WWE SummerSlam 2018 takes place on Sunday, August 19, and several matches have already been confirmed for the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer.’
They are:
- Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns – WWE Universal Championship
- Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Ronda Rousey – WWE Raw Women’s Championship
- AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe – WWE Championship
- Braun Strowman (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Money in the Bank Contract
- Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Seth Rollins – WWE Intercontinental Championship
- Carmella (c) vs. Becky Lynch – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. New Day or The Usos or The Bar – WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Now, Rajah.com are reporting that eight more matches are being discussed for the event. That would mean a total of 14 matches, which is the same number of bouts that were on the WrestleMania 34 card earlier this year.
Here are the eight matches that reportedly could be added to SummerSlam 2018:
- Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz
- This one seems a cert
- Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy – WWE United States Championship
- Orton’s issue seems to be with Hardy as opposed to the US Title, but with Hardy’s recent injury status, a Triple Threat could be on the cards
- Bobby Roode vs. Mojo Rawley
- This one would likely be on the pre-show
- Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Drew Gulak – WWE Cruiserweight Championship
- Another pre-show contender
- Finn Bálor vs. Baron Corbin
- Boy, I can’t wait for this one. Again.
- The B-Team (c) vs. Multiple Teams – WWE Raw Tag Team Championships
- One would assume the teams involved could include the Deleters of Worlds, the Revival and the Authors of Pain
- John Cena vs. The Undertaker
- This WrestleMania 34 rematch is an idea that has been “thrown around”
- Sasha Banks vs. Bayley
- They look to be on the same page now, but who the hell knows with this feud
