Speculation done by Wrestling Observer Radio‘s Dave Meltzer suggests that former eight-time WWE Champion Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could make an appearance at WrestleMania 35 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Much to many fans’ chagrin, the ‘People’s Champion may be facing the ‘Big Dog,’ Roman Reigns.
This could be the latest installment of ‘getting Reigns over,’ and the Rock, arguably the most over superstar in WWE history, may be the one to (literal) do “the job.”
Meltzer even went as far as saying:
“Knowing The Rock’s mentality, I feel that it could be something that would be appealing to him. For Roman Reigns, if they’re trying to get Roman Reigns over, The Rock will do the job for him, that’s not even questioned. In their minds, if they want to get Roman Reigns over as this big Superstar, that’s a match that makes sense from everyone’s perspective.”
This would not be the only time WWE pulled these shenanigans. After Roman Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble, the Rock raised Reigns’ arm to a chorus of boos.
