Toni Storm has defeated Io Shirai to win the second annual Mae Young Classic at WWE Evolution.
In a highly entertaining if far too short match, Storm and Shirai traded blows, both showing why they’re regarded as two of the top wrestlers in the world.
Shirai hit Storm with an incredible top rope moonsault to the outside, while Storm hit Shirai with a German Suplex to the ring apron.

“That’s the hardest part of the ring,” said Beth Phoenix…about 12 times.
The finish came after Shirai attempted to hit her finisher, a top rope moonsault, but Storm countered by getting her knees up.
She then hit her opponent with the second Storm Zero of the night for the pinfall. As previously mentioned, this match deserved another 10 minutes at least, particularly with how much PR nonsense they’re filling the show with.
Well done Toni. Hopefully she becomes a more permanent resident of NXT.
