It’s always an interesting ‘fantasy booking’ topic to imagine if certain WWE main roster talents were to divert to the company’s “developmental” brand NXT, and for SmackDown’s Tye Dillinger, he shared that same fantasy.
Dillinger replied to a tweet asking him if he’d ever tried to go back to NXT with a blunt and simple “Tried.”
Tried. https://t.co/oiarrUEj30

Tye Dillinger joined NXT in 2013, and enjoyed a three-year spell including six TakeOver matches, although he didn’t actually win any of them.
Despite this 0-6 record, Dillinger was popular among the yellow brand’s fanbase for his “10!” chant, which still occasionally pops up during referee count-outs to this day.
Dillinger debuted on the main roster at the 2017 Royal Rumble entering in at #10 (which wasn’t a dead joke at the time), and made the move to SmackDown permanent the following April.
The ‘Perfect 10’ has endured a forgettable spell since then, rarely competing in big matches and pretty much non-existent over the last couple of months, although of course injuries haven’t helped his cause.
He did appear at an NXT house show in May last year, but that was just a one-time gig.
