Last night, former and inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley posted the following image on her Instagram account. It the photo, the Australian is sporting a black cast over her lower leg and foot.

Although she simply captions the image with, “What’s your excuse?” the 22-year-old failed to mention what the injury actually is or how it happened.
Thankfully, SquaredCircleSirens.com reached out to their sources in NXT and received the following information:
“It’s nothing serious… they think it’s just minor sprain.
“She was having lingering issues with her leg and got it checked out.”
According to the site, Ripley isn’t likely to miss too much ring time due to the injury. Taking the appropriate amount of time out to heal, however, is a very small price to pay for her overall health.
This is something Rhea knows all too well as she watched Tegan Nox injure her knee shortly after returning to the ring at the 2018 Mae Young Classic. That injury took Nox out of the tournament that she was later revealed to be earmarked to win.
Stay safe and get well soon, Rhea! But not too soon, aye?
