It was revealed after WrestleMania 35 that two former WWE Champions in AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan had suffered injuries in their respective matches with Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston at the “show of shows”. It was then reported that on Smackdown two nights later, New Day’s Big E suffered a knee injury in the main event of the show and would be taken off the road to undergo surgery and recover.
Big E injured his knee in a six-man tag match where he teamed with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to take on the trio of Drew McIntyre, Cesaro and Sheamus. PWInsider is now reporting that the aforementioned Sheamus is too suffering from an injury.
Cesaro once again competed in six-man tag team action on Smackdown, teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev to take on Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and honorary New Day member, Kevin Owens. Cesaro’s tag team partner Sheamus was nowhere to be seen, and Mike Johnson is reporting that that was because he is dealing with an injury.
At this time, it is unknown what injury Sheamus suffered and how long the former WWE Champion will be off TV for, but we will keep you updated once more information becomes available.
