Fightful is reporting that WWE’s internal injury list has former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa down for a “mid-August” return.
WWE has a comprehensive internal list of off its injured and inactive stars and when they are expected to be available once again to help with planning.
Ciampa underwent serious neck surgery earlier this year which forced him to vacate the NXT Championship, but it isn’t known whether the August return date is accurate or a previous estimate.
Ciampa posted a promising update on his rehabilitation earlier this week.
It’s also worth noting that former Riott Squad leader Ruby Riott has a scheduled return date of early 2020, and Bobby Lashley has been moved onto the inactive list of wrestlers, suggesting he is taking time out.
Lashley hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since July 15 and hasn’t wrestled at a live event since June.
