The last time we saw Bray Wyatt and his Fiend character was on this week’s Raw, where they both appeared in a typically brilliant and creepy episode of Firefly Funhouse.
It was reported recently that the arena hosting Hell in a Cell, the PPV following September’s Clash of Champions, was advertising that The Fiend would either be facing Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship.
There has been nothing to suggest this on WWE TV, but speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that this is indeed the plan for the Hell in a Cell PPV.
Looking at Seth vs. Braun, there is no clear winner and to have Seth lose the belt already would seem very premature. Similarly, you can’t really have Braun lose due to the momentum he’s built up.
Therefore, it makes sense for the match to have a DQ finish, probably in the form of an interruption from the fiend, thus setting up the feud for Hell in a Cell.
Whether that feud would be with Seth, or a triple threat, is as yet unclear, but do no be surprised come Clash of Champions if the lights start to go out and your child’s first violin recital comes on the loudspeakers.
