All Elite Wrestling are set to debut their new TV show on TNT next month on Wednesday, October 2nd, a date that wrestling fans and critics have had in their calendars for several months now.
October 2nd will also see AEW on TNT go head-to-head with NXT on the USA Network for the first time, making it certainly a day to look forward to.
However, Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has invited several wrestling journalists to a tour of the WWE Performance Center on the day of AEW’s TNT debut.
Meltzer noted that while he appreciated the invitation, he would be busy covering AEW’s historic debut show:
“I’d love to go, but I just can’t see myself going on October 2nd,”
While some may say that it is a coincidence that WWE is hosting the tour on October 2nd, one cannot help but think the move was made to strategically take journalist’s attentions away from AEW.
