There has been a change in the WWE contract of Jeff Hardy due to the knee injury he suffered shortly after he and brother Matt won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles back in April.
As per Fightful Select, WWE has added at least one year on to Jeff’s contract, which was initially set to expire in March 2020, due to the time off.
In terms of a return date, WWE’s internal injury list has Jeff Hardy down to return to in-ring action in November.
His brother Matt’s contract, who has barely featured on TV following Jeff’s injury, is still set to expire as per the initial date of March 2020.
The report also noted that it hasn’t been made clear to the talent by WWE exactly what the criteria is for the contract extension policy, or if there even is one:
“The decisions in doing so have been arbitrary, with several talent telling Fightful they aren’t sure of what criteria if any are followed in implementing it.”
