This is not a drill. CM Punk returned to our midst on last night’s episode of WWE Backstage, and will be a regular contributor to the show going forward.
After making a shock appearance at the end of the show, he looked at the camera and said: “It’s as simple as this, just when they think they’ve got the answers, I change the culture. I’ll see you here next week.”
Punk left WWE in 2014, and fans and news outlets have endlessly speculated over his return, and while this isn’t the return many were hoping for, it’s better than nothing.
Punk denied that he had been offered any kind of role with the FS1 show after it was revealed that he had done a tryout for the show. WWE and FOX would of course have been desperate for this surprise not to be leaked ahead of time.
