10 Potential Challengers For Universal Champion Braun Strowman

10 Potential Challengers For Universal Champion Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman defeated Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, despite being a replacement for Roman Reigns who pulled out of the match on medical grounds.

As we exclusively reported, WWE made Goldberg an offer to extend his WWE contract, which was set to end at ‘Mania, so he could drop the title to Reigns when normality is restored in the world.

However, Goldberg turned the offer down and so he dropped the strap to Strowman. The question now is: who’s going to step up to the ‘Monster Among Men’ and challenge him for his swanky blue belt?

We’re gonna take a look at 10 potential options. Please note this list is presented in no particular order.

King Corbin

It just is going to happen isn’t it.

The mere thought of it makes me wants to eat my own face so I’m not going to bother writing any more about it than this.

Moving swiftly on…

Jeff Hardy

This one might seem a bit random, but there’s a very interesting reason behind it.

As part of our aforementioned exclusive report, we learned that Jeff Hardy was actually being considered to face Goldberg at ‘Mania instead of Braun Strowman.

While that clearly didn’t come to fruition, it does suggest that WWE is still high enough on Hardy despite all of his issues and after all these years to position him in a top spot.

While the match wouldn’t exactly be a five-star barnburner, that’s almost certainly never going to happen while Strowman reigns as champion anyway, and it would be nice to see a cleaned-up, rejuvenated Hardy back towards the top end of the card.

Roman Reigns

This is the obvious one. Reigns was the man who was intended to dethrone Goldberg at ‘Mania in the first place, and if I was a betting man, which I am sometimes, but not all the time… anyway my point is Reigns is probably going to be the one that beats Strowman for the title.

He might not be.

But he probably is.

Right?
