A spoiler on IMPACT Wrestling’s World Championship plans for Slammiversary has come to light following a major announcement being teased.
As reported by Fightful Select (subscription required and recommended), World Champion Tessa Blanchard is set to return to defend the title, having been absent for a lengthy period of time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Blanchard hasn’t wrestled since March 7, and her title defence might not be what you were expecting. In her absence, Moose has been parading around as if he’s the TNA World Champion, with many assuming this would lead to a match to determine the ‘rightful’ champion between the two.
However, the report notes that the current plan is for a multi-person match with Blanchard defending against Michael Elgin, Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and Eddie Edwards.
IMPACT has also teased that some recently released WWE stars could be in line to appear at Slammiversary.
The show is scheduled to take place on July 18. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for more news and updates as the event approaches.
