One of the people fired in the mass WWE releases of April 2020 was former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush.
Rush’s firing came after he reportedly refused to wrestle during the Coronavirus pandemic, and subsequently was left out of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament.
On social media following his release, Rush suggested that he may be done with professional wrestling in the wake of his departure from WWE.
Even in an interview with WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor, Rush didn’t rule out the possibility of retiring following his release from Vince McMahon’s company.

Well it seems like that may have been all a work, brother, as Lio Rush has taken to social media to tease a return to wrestling.
Taking to Instagram, Rush released a video with the caption “20 days”. For those that don’t know, this video was posted 20 days before Slammiversary, perhaps suggesting that Lio is going to debut for Impact Wrestling.

While this is just speculation, it has been reported that two former WWE stars released on the same day as Lio Rush have actually signed deals with Impact Wrestling that will see them either debut at Slammiversary or just after.
