The final of the 2020 New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) New Japan Cup is now confirmed after the semi-finals took place earlier today.
In the first semi-final, EVIL picked up the win over SANADA with the Everything Is EVIL STO, after targeting the groin area of SANADA throughout the match, which he had injured the day before.
After picking up the win, EVIL left SANADA in the ring to recover on his own despite both being members of the Los Ingobernables de Japon group.
In the second semi-final, Kazuchika Okada defeated Hiromu Takahashi with the Cobra Clutch submission to stamp his ticket to the final following multiple Rainmakers.
That means the final will see EVIL take on Okada on July 11, with the winner advancing to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental and IWGP Heavyweight Championships the following day at Dominion.
