One of the most laughable storylines from the last 12 months was the feud between Bobby Lashley and Miro. As most remember, Miro (then known as Rusev) had his wife Lana stolen by Lashley. Now, we know what the original plans for this were.
On Talk is Jericho, Miro revealed that Paul Heyman told him that his match with Lashley would be one of the main events of WrestleMania. Here is the quote:
“I think Paul Heyman called us with that story and I was like ‘where is it leading?’ Of course, this is my first question. Cool, it’s not my favourite story but where is it leading? ‘Main event of WrestleMania. One of the main events of WrestleMania’. When you hear that, what are you going to say? There’s plans. This is September, October, whatever it was so it was a few months planned and it’s very realistic. Cool, I jumped on board and I knew it was a red flag since the beginning.”
Well, needless to say, that didn’t happen. In reality, the storyline fizzled out with Miro being beaten on television routinely with his final WWE match coming on February 17.
