It was reported following last week’s episode of SmackDown that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wasn’t present at the taping for the first time in months.
Instead, Bruce Prichard ran the show, and as far as we know, Vince didn’t call in to talk him through the show, which is very unusual for Vince who generally likes to be running things even if he can’t be there in person.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that while Vince missed several shows at the start of the year, he has been at every single show of the past few months.
Meltzer noted the reason behind Vince’s absence is very likely to be related to the US Presidential election which took place last week. Vince is a close friend and advisor to Donald Trump, who is projected to lose the election.
