The man who will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the December 20 TLC pay-per-view has been revealed.
It has been clear that WWE has been building up towards a Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan match, but it was reported yesterday that WWE had decided to hold off on that until the Royal Rumble in January.
Ringside News is reporting that Kevin Owens will be Reigns’ challenger at TLC. The site has been on the money with its reports as of late.
Reigns and Owens did have an altercation on last night’s episode of SmackDown, and that was done to set up the match at TLC.
Owens is a former Universal Champion in his own right, having held the title for 188 days from August 2016 to March 2017, which is the second longest single reign in the title’s history behind Brock Lesnar’s 503-day reign from April 2017 to August 2018.
