A WWE Hall of Famer has taken to social media to praise and defends the company’s COVID-19 safety protocol after seeing it called into question.
Kevin Nash, who was notably one of the names at Survivor Series in November for the Undertaker’s farewell, has been very vocal about safety throughout the pandemic.
Upon seeing an article headlined ‘Is WWE Trying To Kill Ric Flair’, who is now appearing on shows on a regular basis, Nash tweeted:
Saw this in a Google feed. The story says the @WWE doesn’t do a adequate job Covid testing. Complete bulls**t. Everytime I’m involved I’ve been quarantined in a hotel room after being tested then brought to the arena. I was positive and sent directly to my home to quarantine
There has been a recent outbreak of COVID-19 in wrestling that has affected all companies after the turn of the year.
Dave Meltzer reported that at least four WWE stars, including WWE Champion Drew McIntyre who WWE publicly announced, have tested positive.
There’s also said to be more frustration among talent in NXT as full-time training at the Performance Center five days a week is now resuming despite the risks.
WWE was late to the party when it came to carrying out actual COVID-19 tests though, and was only carrying out rough temperature checks until several months into the pandemic.
