One thing people have brought up recently has been the rules for declaring for the Royal Rumble. Some have said it makes no sense why some are able to declare for the match and others have to qualify. Now, Adam Pearce has cleared the air.
Pearce took to Twitter earlier today to clarify the rules of entering the Royal Rumble. Simply, those who are given permission by management are allowed to declare. Otherwise, you must qualify. Here is the tweet:
It’s actually pretty simple: Those that have been granted the ability to simply declare entry into the Royal Rumble *by management* are free to do so. Those that haven’t must qualify. I don’t write the rules, I enforce them. 🤷♂️

WWE has not consistently had their stars qualify for the Rumble match since 2008. Back then the majority of the spots in the match were decided by winning qualifying matches. In the years since, most WWE stars simply declare their entry. At least now we know that they have permission from management to do it.
The 2021 Royal Rumble pay per view is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2021.
