A former NXT Tag Team Champion made his return to the brand on last night’s episode of the show on the USA Network.
After Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium had lost their Dusty Rhodes Classic first-round match to Lucha House Party, they were greeted by a familar face.
That face was fellow Imperium member Alexander Wolfe, who hasn’t had a match in the USA branch of NXT since January 2020 at Worlds Collide.
That was the match he got injured early on and it turned into a four-on-three handicap match with Undisputed ERA against Aichner, Barthel and WALTER.
Wolfe has been in action on NXT UK since the brand returned following the first COVID-19 lockdown in the UK. His last match was on the December 3, 2020 episode which saw him lose to Joe Coffey.
It’s unclear exactly what Wolfe’s return means, but it does seem that at least three quarters of Imperium will be operating in the USA from now on.
