One of the many surprises at the Royal Rumble this year was the return of Carlito. The former WWE star had not competed for the company since his release in 2010.
Carlito followed up his return with a tag match on Raw the next night. He teamed with Jeff Hardy, defeating Elias and Jaxson Ryker but he has not been seen since. Now, he has provided an update on his status with the company.
Speaking with Wrestlinc Inc., he said that he doesn’t know where he sits with WWE. However, he did not have a trial period as a producer. Here is the quote:
“Right now, I don’t know where I sit. There was never a trial or something to be a producer backstage or something. None of that was was ever mentioned to me. All we talked about was the Rumble and RAW, and then after that, who knows? But as of now, I’d love to come back. It’s all in the air right now. I have no idea what’s next for me.”
Carlito had a pretty successful run in WWE during the mid 2000s, winning the United States, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Championships.
