Taking to Twitter, WWE Raw star MVP has given his thoughts on the people on social media who comment and joke about his troubled past and time in prison before making it in wrestling.
In the first tweet, MVP said that he is “amused” by the people who bring up his “criminal past”. He noted that he isn’t bothered by the comments, as he is now an “inspiration to others”:
I’m amused by people who come at me on social media from the anonymity of a keyboard. My favorite is when they attack me about my criminal past and prison time. It really doesn’t hurt my feelings because I’ve overcome all of that. And now I’m an example and inspiration to others.
In a subsequent tweet a few minutes later, MVP said that people resent the fact that a “convicted felon” is now working for the biggest professional wrestling company in the world.
I think there are a number of people out there that resent very deeply that a convicted felon who came from poverty is a globally known professional wrestler that has accomplished more than they have despite my baggage. Say more about them than me
MVP (real name Hassan Hamin Assad) spent six months in a juvenile detention centre for robbery. He later served just shy of ten years of an 18-and-a-half year prison sentance for armed robbery and kidnapping, which he started at the age of 16.
