Many people thought that Sting would never wrestle again after his career-ending injury in 2015. However, he surprised the wrestling world by signing with All Elite Wrestling and aligning with Darby Allin in December.
In the months since, Sting has wrestled his first match in over five years at Revolution in March. In the match, he and Allin took down Brian Cage and Ricky Starks of Team Taz.
In his recent interview with Drinks With Johnny, Darby Allin revealed that Sting had told him how much their partnership meant to him. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“Sting pulled me aside a week after and said, ‘I want to let you know how much this means to me how easy you’ve made this for me.'”
Darby Allin and Sting have continued their partnership since Revolution. While Sting has not competed since the event, Allin has continued to defend his TNT Championship. His most recent title defence came against Jungle Boy on the April 21, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Sting had not wrestled since his WWE Championship match against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions 2015.
