In an article about Tony Khan and the rise of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Shahid Khan told Forbes that he didn’t initially think it was a good idea for his son Tony Khan to launch AEW.
Shahid Khan, who is believed to have a net worth of around $8.3 billion, eventually came round to the idea, having the following to say to Forbes on the matter:
“I absolutely didn’t think this was a good idea. But I told Tony, ‘Look, when I’m dead and gone, I’m going to be leaving you and your sister a lot of money. Why don’t you blow some of that while I’m alive?’”
AEW has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2019, impressing fans, wrestling critics and even those at TNT with the quality of the product that Tony Khan has been putting out.
