Yesterday (June 17), it was announced that the Roman Reigns vs Rey Mysterio match that was originally scheduled for the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view this Sunday will be taking place on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
A Hell In A Cell match on free TV is sure to bring in a high rating for the Friday night show. However, while Fox may be happy with the ratings bump, USA Network are reportedly very unhappy with the rescheduled title match.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast said:
“I can tell you for a fact that USA Network is very unhappy that the Hell in a Cell match is happening on SmackDown. I’m not gonna say they are fuming but they are very unhappy about it.”
WWE reportedly rescheduled the title match after a lot of discussions last night, with the current plan being for Roman Reigns to not wrestle at Hell In A Cell.
It was also reported that both USA and Fox are pitching their own ideas for themed shows for Raw and SmackDown in the coming months.
