Earlier this week it was reported that Pete Dunne’s NXT contract was due to expire in the coming weeks, with him yet to sign an extension.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer, Dunne’s deal is set to formally expire on September 1.
With this being a contract expiry, Dunne would be free to work for any promotion of his choice after that date should he choose not to re-sign with the company.
Fightful Select previously reported that Dunne’s contract situation was similar to Adam Cole’s.
Cole’s contract expired in July to the surprise of management, who thought he was signed until the end of the year, and he agreed an extension through SummerSlam weekend.
Pete Dunne signed with WWE in 2017 as part of NXT UK, where he was the second ever United Kingdom Champion.
